ConceptLab’s purpose is to foster collaborative research on “conceptual engineering” – the critique and improvement of concepts. We investigate concepts from across philosophy and beyond. The center’s remit thus covers all areas of philosophy: theoretical, practical, and historical.

  • Study Subject: ConceptLab got funding for a 5-year Toppforsk project from the Norwegian Research Council. ConceptLab also receives support from IFIKK and the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Oslo.
  • Scholarship Award: The Collaborative Visiting Fellowship scheme for 2018-19 is open to applicants who hold an academic position or are PhD Students. Collaborative visiting positions come with a stipend of NOK 20 000 per month for up to 3 months to support travel and accommodation costs during the course of the fellowship. Visiting Fellows are expected to contribute to the intellectual environment of ConceptLab.
