Lahore: Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) has announced scholarships for 75000 Intermediate female students of 11 districts of Punjab. RS: 1.09 billion worth scholarships will be awarded to the students of Chiniot, Lodhran, Vehari, Bhakkar, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yaar Khan, Layyah, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Ranjhanpur and D.G.Khan districts.

The PEEF scholarships are being offered under the supervision of Punjab educational Endowment fund which was started in 2008 by under the leadership of prime minister Main Shahbaz Sharif. Peef scholarships awards scholarships across the country outreach and special quota scholarships at the level on secondary, intermediate, graduation, postgraduate and master’s levels.

PEEF is a proactive scheme which provides funds at their doorstep of the deserving and the brilliant students who pursue their higher education because of the constraint of the money. Allocation of these scholarships provides at the basis of the tehsils, and districts and less developed districts.

PEEF also assigned the special quota for the orphans, Children BS1-4, Government workers, disabled, minorities, and windows have been allocated. all the bright and the needy students of the other provinces AJK, FATA, Gilgit Baltistan and Islamabad capital region have been provided opportunities for higher education through this program. PEEF has awarded more than 100,000 scholarships. PEEF also bestowed the scholarships programs for brilliant students in international universities.

PEEF Scholarship Eligibility Criteria: 

– Domicile of any of the districts mentioned above
– Minimum 60% Marks in Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education or Federal Boards Matriculation exams
– Total monthly of income of Parents less than must be 15,000
– Children of Government servants of Grade 1 to IV are excluded from the condition of 15,000 per month income (if Government Job is the only source of Income)
– Must be a Regularly registered student of Intermediate
– Special Quota for Minority groups

Outreach Scholarships

PEEF has allocated 80% of the scholarships for “Outreach Scholarships.” These scholarships are awarded for studies in the following four educational levels. The level-wise allocation of learning is given below:

  • Secondary 20%
  • Intermediate 30%
  • Graduation 30%
  • Masters 20%

Type of Institutions

These scholarships have been allocated for both public and private sector educational institutions.

The Approach

PEEF has adopted a “Pro active Approach” for the award of Outreach Scholarships to the talented and deserving students. No advertisements are released to seek applications for scholarships; rather PEEF itself obtains data of meritorious students from Punjab Examination Commission (PEC), all Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) of Punjab and Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) and contact the eligible and meritorious students who have attained top positions in their respective tehsils.

Geographic Allocation

The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund endeavors to bring best educational opportunities to the less privileged and talented youth of Punjab, and bring them at par with the most fortunate ones. In this perspective, all the districts of Punjab have been divided into two major categories; Developed Districts (DDs) and Less Developed Districts (LDDs)

Level Wise Eligibility Criteria

A) Secondary Level

The students must have:

  • Must have passed Punjab Examination Commission’s (PEC) held Grade VIII annual examination in annual (OR).
  • Must have passed Grade VIII examination conducted by the Directorate of Special Education, Lahore.
  • Secured at least 60% marks in the examination mentioned above.
  • Secured admission to a regular educational institution as a fulltime student in the same year of passing the examination.
  • Declared monthly income of parents (from all sources) as equal to or less than PKR. 15,000/-
  • For Special Quota Scholarships, the student must fall in at least one of the S.Q categories:
    I) Orphan Student
    II) Children of government employees of BPS 1-4
    III) Children belonging to minority religion
    IV) Special Children (Disabled)
    V)The Children civilians martyred in terrorist’s attacks
  • Not avail any other educational scholarship during the current academic year
Note:

 The children of government servants in BPS 1 – 4 are exempted from income limit criteria if salary is the only source of income.

 

Marks improvers or students who have passed an examination in supplementary session are not eligible.

B) Intermendiate and Graduation Level

The students must have:

  • Passed Matriculation and Intermediate annual examination held by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Punjab or Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (FBISE), Islamabad in annual.
  • Only students of Federal Government Institutions and Federal Private affiliated institutions situated within geographical boundaries of Punjab are eligible.
  • Declared monthly income of parents (from all sources) is Rs. 15,000/- or less.
  • For Special Quota Scholarships, the student must fall in at least one of the S.Q categories.
    I) Orphan Student
    II) Children of government employees of BPS 1-4
    III) Children belonging to minority religion
    IV) Special Children (Disabled)
  • Not availing any other educational scholarship during the respective current academic year.
  • Secured admission to a regular educational institution as a full-time student in the same year as of passing the examination.

C) Masters Level

These Scholarships will be awarded to students fulfilling the criteria given below;

  • Students having Punjab domicile
  • Secured at least 60% marks or a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in BA/BSc/BCom/BS/BBA etc. annual examination held in 2015/2016 or 2017 from Punjab.
  • Secured admission as a full-time student in the current academic / Degree year (2017-18) in one of the partners University/government postgraduate colleges.
  • Students enrolled in spring/fall session and morning/ afternoon/ evening sessions (where applicable) are also eligible to apply for PEEF Master’s scholarships.
  • Declared monthly income of parents (from all sources) is equal to or less than Rs.30, 000/-
  • Children of Government employees in BPS 1-4 are exempted from a condition of income if salary is the only source of income
  • The prospective student, besides fulfilling PEEF eligibility criteria, must qualify the merit and need criteria of the respective University/ Degree Awarding Institution
Note:

Following students are not eligible for PEEF Masters level Scholarship:

 Students who have already passed/possessed MA / MSc / MS / MPhil etc. degree.

 Marks improvers or students who have passed the examination in an extra session.

 Students who have passed the examination mentioned above with grace marks (*).
