  • Course Level: Studentship is available to pursue PhD programme.
  • Study Subject: Studentship is awarded in the field of genotoxicology, which aims to assess cellular fate following DNA damage in the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences at UWE Bristol.
  • Scholarship Award: The studentship will start on 1 January 2019, subject to satisfactory progress, for three years. The studentship will only fund tuition fees at Home/EU rates.

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must meet the following criteria:

We are looking for a self-motivated researcher with strong organisational and technical skills to address the overall aims of the project in an innovative manner.
The student would be expected to provide their own living costs, as there is not a stipend attached to this opportunity.

Essential criteria:

  • A good honours degree (minimum 2.1 or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline
  • Experience in the techniques used for the assessment of DNA damage
  • Demonstrable practical laboratory skills (including mammalian cell culture and drug treatment)
  • Excellent communication skills

Desirable criteria:

  • Evidence of further study at Masters level or equivalent
  • To have recently undertaken a relevant research project within the field of genotoxicology at UG or PG level.

English Language Requirements: Applicants must have excellent communication skills.
